Hello Message Board'
Seem like the current administration is going down the path of destroying King Coal--So I gotta take a loss on ARLP selling today
I sure hope that you all do NOT own coal---wow what a correction!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe ARLP will be back above $70 very soon. They have profitable Utility Contracts locked in for next several years. 40% of our electricity comes from Coal, even King Obama can't shut those plants down for several years to come. They are Giant Base Load Plants..
Since china is the world's largest importer of coal, coal stocks are reacting to the slowing of the Chinese economy. Long term, plentiful and cheap domestic natural gas clouds the outlook for coal. Natural gas is the preferred fuel for industry because it is more efficient and cleaner so I view investment in coal to be fighting the trend. As the build-out of midstream energy infrastructure (pipelines, processing, storage, etc) continues, natural gas will continue to replace coal.
sarge...sorry that you are taking a beat down on ARLP, it is the best coal company in the business (when ARLP cannot do good it looks bad for all coal companies)...I agree this correction is pretty strong, at this time I am off of my all time highs by about $31,000.00....
That said, I have a bit of cash at his time and I am buying more SFL today and maybe something else (???)...I cannot dollar cost average without buying something that will rebound in the future...I know this sounds crazy, but my 'revenue stream' (dividends/distributions) are 'still increasing' (because of reinvesting)..! $tagg...!
thanks so much for your reply--it is so hard to take the losses and it feels so lonesome at times!
I too am off my high by approximately the same amount as you are--yeks--what are we doing wrong????????
I may buy SFL today if is is week today -- I did buy some on Friday. J Cramer says buy KMP but there are lots of bargains out there! all comments are appreciated and warranted.
