Ammo Demand and Store Sales Policies

Most stores have been limiting sales to customers, which has been inconvient for many customers; but a good overall policy so target shooters are able to have chance at stock. Gander Mountain customers have been lining up in front of stores before they open, to get chance at stock. Also, see customers getting numbers for service in gun departments. Gun Shops with ranges have been limiting customers one box per day, so their target shooters have an opportunity. Retail chains have also put in some limits, but prior to this saw and hurd of customers spending $400, $500, $800, $1100, $1300 on ammo at Walmart.

Cabela's has this policy statement posted:
Cabela's is working diligently through the current dynamic business climate to assure our customers the best chance of fulfilling their product needs. Cabela's is one of the most reliable sources for firearms, ammunition and reloading components, thanks to our strong, long-standing relationships with manufacturers; relationships which, in turn, benefit our customers.

Because of extraordinary demand, Cabela's complete line of firearm accessories, ammunition and reloading supplies may not be shown here. Only in-stock items are displayed. Please check back often as our online assortment is frequently updated.

Cabela's is limiting quantities of ammunition and reloading supplies. This limitation, which will be lifted once supply catches up with demand, will provide the best chance for the greatest number of our customers to fulfill their needs.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding.

    • I went to a gun show in ft. wayne, ind over the weekend... plenty of guns on the tables for sale.. including ar's for $699... as for ammo, at least around here the reloaders have taken up the slack by the recent ammo shortage... I didn't see anyone buying the so called brand name ammo, Winchester, Remington, federal, ect but the a lot of people buying reloads... me included... finally had the opportunity to buy some 9mm, which I still don't see on the shelf any where.. sure there were people there who had the brand name ammo on the table but at triple the price it should have been... didn't see any of it selling.. go figure?? no doubt here in time, ammo will be back on the shelf... it was like this in 2008 before Obama was elected and then afterwards, it eased up...
