have both ATVI and ERTS for years - still holding both... along with NTDOY which is down 45%BUT - with the economy and wallets strained, when are folks going to buy games again ?I was thinking that games might be immune to the downturn, as cheap stay at home entertainment.... but not so.
The NDP for December were for 5 weeks. Also NDP is only retail and don't include online numbers.
First, if you are down around half on Nintendo, you bought near the absolute peak. That is unfortunate. The run from aound 10 to the 70s was spectacular. As for games not selling. You should research the sales data, NPD, media-create, and euro charts. Nintendo software is destroying the competition. Third party software companies overall are in trouble, but Nintendo's last quarter was stellar. NSMBwii leading the charge and evergreens providing reinforcements, 2010 is shaping up well. As for ds, I think the DS XL will be very successful globally, and not just for the elderly.
Nintendo said that consumers in the U.S. had bought 3 million units of the WII in December. NPD says that WII sold 3,8 million units. Whom should I believe?
bot back in 1998 - 200 @ $11+was mentioning down 45% - from the 200 moving average... with the market overall up.http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ta?s=NTDOY.PK&t=2y&l=on&z=m&q=l&p=m200&a=&c=Where are some places to see the gaming market trends, reported sales, consoles vs games, etc ?
