I just bought a few shares today. I have wanted to own BRK for a long time. Of course I would prefer to own the A shares but I am happy with these. I am looking to hold these for the long haul and add to the holdings over time.
I would say, best of luck, but you don't need to be lucky with Berkshire if you buy and hold. Although, I guess you have done it, read all the books you can about his way of thinking. Buy the way, Berkshire actually will paid for those books and much more in the form of compound interest. It is a company that creates value on the long term like now other. Not to mention the fact that The Melinda Gates foundation is probably the most underestimated philanthropic effort of our time.
Congratulations,I think your timing is good and you will not be disappointed in your decision to own stock of Berkshire Hathaway.I have owned stock in many companies in my 50 years of investing.Berkshire is currently my largest and longest position.I first bought it in 1992 and continue to buy it when its on sale as I think it is now.My estimates of fair market value is between $137 to $143 per share.I think that current market conditions are a reflection of the negativity in our society, and ,and the lack of understanding of the true value of Berkshire.
