I posted this on 'UNXL vs. ATML', but wanted to give it its own thread so it had more attention.
Carlo is definitely additive according to their website. It is a two step process involving catalytic ink and metallisation. I think unipixels process is one step. I want to put together a seeking alpha article detailing KCChris's enthusiasm, which I share, as well as some honest risks involved. Most people don't know about this company, and few who do actually understand it. All are welcome to gchat me at chofmann88 at gmail. I look forward to some honest discussion about this gem.
The reason I mentioned that Carclo's process was subtractive is because I recall Killion saying that their's was the only additive product as well. I admit that I could be wrong. I would love to see the side by side comparisons of both products: cost to manufacture, resolution, sensitivity, scan rates, etc. Is Carclo's product manufactured at ambient temperature, pressure and without the use of a clean room? I'm pretty certain that Killion has stressed these advantages in UNXL's process.
For me, the next tentative area is production. How well will UNXL be able to incorporate this intellectual property into the monetizing phase; I hope that it goes very well. I would like to see this company get a good reputation of cranking out a quality product on time and on demand.
I have a long position on UNXL and hope to keep it that way.
