Novell says Linux interest growing in Asia-Pacific
>>Lenz said in a media release that he had recently handled many inquiries from large organisations who were thinking of moving across to Linux and wanted the peace of mind of the Novell indemnification program.
"Specifically what the program means for Australian businesses or organisations interested in running Novell's enterprise SUSE Linux solutions is that they will be protected from potential copyright infringement claims such as those claimed by the SCO Group. We are finding organisations are favouring this program rather than bowing to pressure from SCO," he said.
"Novell is in a very strong position at the moment in regard to the unique rights to UNIX and we have used this position to further support the open source movement in Australia."<<
