>disruptive in your scheme of things but just another player in the high tech world. Get use to it, it's not going to go away.
Please don't misunderstand me, I'm all for Linux on all platforms; an investor in CALD, CORL, IBM, RHAT, and soon-to-be Lineo. I not only hope that it doesn't go away, but I hope that it's here for good! The USS Enterprise NCC1701 and indeed all of starfleet will run Linux!
Linux is "disruptive" in that it's capable of over-turning the incumbant, DOS. And Gnome/KDE is capable of over-turning Windows. Together, they provide a solution to just about any requirement that can be imagined, be it mainframes, servers, desktop, handheld, or embedded. There has never been anything that comes close to providing such compatibility between devices. Linux has the potential to completely "disrupt" the current status quo.
