I don't really see these as solely bellhops/escorts to rooms. However, with a bit more functionality (credit card reading, the ability to issue room keys), I could see AVA replacing some of the night staff at budget hotels.
Using one AVA at each of (say) 5-8 hotels, a single clerk (maybe sitting at yet another hotel) could possibly handle the basic check-in/check-out/information needs that come up in the middle of the night.
reading this I picture a overladen 'bot getting a nudge down a flight of stairs... or after Ava lets someone in the room, a hand comes out of an another room -- grabbing the hapless bot and dragging it inside -- where it is promptly dismantled...
I don't think these are ready for that kind of job.
