Yahoo! Inc. Message Board

Total Message postings seem to have sharply declined with the new format

I check out several boards each day. On many (most?) of them (CMG, AMZN, TBT, SLV, YHOO etc.) the total daily number of new messages and message threads has sharply declined since the new format was introduced. At first I thought it was seasonal (Labor day) but the decline has continued. Yahoo--can you put 2 and 2 together and see that you losing people here (not just spammers)? Seriously consider bringing back the old board format, or I think you will soon hear crickets chirping since they will be deserted.

    • Let's take a look back in time. Microsoft offers what was it $32 per share for Yahoo. Yahoo execs say no way.
I've been posting since 1999. Yahoo revamped the early message board format TO WHAT IT WAS until recently. Now these jokers are at it again AND MAKING IT WORSE AGAIN.

    • They've changed the message board format 3 or 4 times since I've been using yahoo (mid 90s) and none of them have been for the better.

    • If Yahoo is based on eyes on and clicks, they have made a very bad move!! ETrade and Toyota will not pay for fewer clicks!!!

    • I, too, liked the old board format, bringing it back would not be the end of the world for Yahoo (i.e. admitting the mistake made). If they must keep the new format, make the listing more like a tree, give user options at the top or on the side to dynamically make fonts larger or smaller, the idea is to fit more messages within a viewing area; Also please make the message panes auto expand or shrink horizontally. How come there is no option to choose to show 10 or 20 or 100 messages? On ESPN site, users can hit the pause button to "freeze" the message updates, it is pretty neat.
