But Ballmer has no vision and wants to keep "the family of products" together at any cost. Office is the only thing that is profitable (OK, the reasons why are unethical but that's another story).
This thing has value but not as is....
A little more work on corporate strategy and less hot air Ballmer.
Read the post, TROLL. "so that a previous version can't read it" and that's bullsheat, besides, you can DL a reader if you don't have office. You're too STUPID to be allowed in public.
Sun and Oracle dropped support for Star Office but still include it with the Solaris operating system.
Then Star Office went to a open source development.
And Word Perfect is available.
Then Google developed a following for its office applications.
So a lite version of MS Office has become just a necessary part of the operating system for consumers. But MS doesn't need to buy the product to add it to the operating system.
Then MS puts silly ads into the consumer version. But desktop applications should not have ads but only webpages can have ads.
But most companies still need the full version of MS Office.
Offcie is only profitable MSFT product, you are so stupid!!! Better check out the last 5 years, which products are not only profitable. Not only pretty much all MSFt products are very profitable, but also they enjoy the much highest profit margin of any products in the world in any countries!!!! I have yet tpo find any ocmpany has net profit margin as high as MSFT, without the need for capital intensive and labor intensive.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
The comment "older versions are purposely excluded from reading newer formats" is yet another Linux lie, office 2007 reads office 2010 just fine and even it didn't msft has free readers. You and mr twit could be yapping about office 2013 preview, you're such a bore.
