Deliberate sabotaging older software and forcing people to upgrade. how evil. it's the poor or people who have old computers who cannot upgrade. ripping off the public, reality there is no reason to upgrade. all the computers can access internet , play music ,watch videos. msft has no growth.
No problem. Just upgrade to Linux and Firefox for FREE. I did after the Vista Fiasco. Sure, Linux has a learning curve, but so does Windows 8. Linux Mint MATE is a great alternative for XP users who want a traditional desktop environment. Runs on older hardware just fine.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
nonsense! there's no sabotage of xp by msft. you didn't post any evidence of it and i'll bet you can't either.
if you want to use xp go ahead. no one is stopping you. the criminal gangs that make money stealing your info have mostly given up attacking it too. by now it's becoming one of the safer versions of the o.s. if you want to be safer than with xp then install w2k.
Tech-savvy IT people have had the choice of a mature Linux and Free BSD for a over 12 years now. For the non tech-savvy masses, there is Ubuntu, and other versions of modern Linux with low resource (memory, CPU) requirements. It is possible to run a modern Linux distribution on 10-11 year-old hardware, provided you can get your machine's RAM to 500MB. Not a tall order these days. I know, because I run SuSE Linux on 12 year-old business-class Dell.
Cost is not the barrier to upgrading to a modern Linux with a modern web browser. The barrier is ignorance and unwillingness to learn or try something new.
Yes they are XP is a pain in Windows side. They did it with Win 98 SE slowly but surely they made it so you couldn't do something then no new drivers etc. I still have two perfectly good XP computers but they are doomed to the junk pile.
If I remember right IE8 is the highest version you can go with on an XP machine. They did that 98SE where you couldn't upgrade IE and down the road web sites stop supporting it effectively killing 98SE off the internet. Took a while. I don't use IE so.....
That's where they got the public, their is no replacement for windows OS except over price Apple products or Linux which only the tech savvy can handle. I was hoping Google would come out with a stripped down OS for desk tops with an easy GUI. They sort of did with Laptops but not what I was hoping for.
