...and they just announced "hardware support" for offline Chrome apps. This will allow access from Chrome to USB hardware, etc. in offline mode. MSFT didn't capitalize on this when they had the chance. This will allow very cheap tablets and possibly Android phones (Note 3 releases with USB 3 port) to do "corporate" things like add scanners, printers, etc. There is the argument that there is no "domain login" and no "file manager". Google and MSFT have not approached this yet. MSFT, if released quickly, could gain an edge but everytime Google signs someone up for Google Docs it makes this less and less relevant. Who will win? I have no idea...but currently there is a lot more developer support for Android and Chrome OS. Most of MSFT developers are stuck supporting current line of business apps and there isn't enough money in the economy for "forward" investing in development.
