I agree with this. CNBC is nothing more than a bunch of cheerleaders. MSNBC is a bigger joke with the morons like Chris Matthews. None of their programs have high ratings. Hardball is consistently at the bottom of the ratings.
GE has been expanding media with the Universal acquisition and profit growth will return starting in the fourth quarter. Cable (including CNBC) and Universal has been performing well and NBC is turning around with the NFL and several good new shows as well as the Olympics. As we saw with ABC, get one or two hit shows and the whole ballgame changes. Under the fix it, sell it or close it mentality of GE, NBC is clearly a fix it. Media and medical is where Immelt has decided to up the ante with acquisitions. Medical is doing quite well and NBC/Universal should again start performing well in the fourth quarter. Don't think for a minute GE is ready to throw in the towel on NBC.
