ge is partnered for the plants so they do share responsibility for maintainance and up keep of the equipment. either way it is a reputational disaster and ge loses either way
Cnbc business new presenters spewing negative news about nuclear power will destroy ge and ccj.
I don't think there is any liability at all for Ge either as the designer of the plants over 40 years ago or as a partial maintainer. No one should expect a 40 year old power plant to survive an 8.9 earthquake and tsunami. It's just not possible.
I'd only worry about it if the plants were in the US and the tragedy struck the US. I'm sure John Edwards would be riding in on his ambulance chasing Vespa, law books a blazin.
I think most warranty claims are void against fin huge mother nature catastrophes. How do you maintain anything against a 9.0 earthquake? There is nothing to see here, move on.
those plants were constructed in 1971. Great opportunity to pick up some cheap shares. Thank you sellers
If the actual plant structure breaks & there is a huge leak, we'll see GE at $13-$15 in a jiffy. Anyone buying at these lofty levels is nuts with the risk/reward potential.
