Started a Position today at $71..35 Hoping for....

I have a feeling that North face might have a great Christmas, since nobody was buying winter stuff earlier, it should leave the door open for a lot of North Face under the tree!

Seven's may be loosing some appeal, but NF seems to be hotter then ever!

Then there is levi for you walmart shoppers!

    • I have been a longtime Northface user...and I have started to look into this stock---a bit contrarian as retail is a bad word in this credit crunch environment.

One thing to consider esp when looking at years past is how will this co perform going forward as housing values are going south, credit is tightening, consumer credit card debt is at all time highs, and the home ATM is no longer in service (ie no more refi's to pay off credit cards)?

I have been having this same dilema with RL....everytime it pops to a small profit for me I want to sell but I keep holding out looking to X-mas as a surprisingly good time for retailers. Basically hinged on the premiss that the overindulgence of the past is a hard habit to break (even if you are broke). Or the idea that Northface type shoppers are not as sensitive to credit tightening---but I am wondering if I am wrong

Northface is a great company---but it is expensive and I would put the same question mark on the near term as I have with RL. Long term both are excellent--but short term it seems to be a trade

    • bought some 75 calls is very strong but just in a weak sector
