I have to tell you that I have been an online JC Penney shopper for years. There is no doubt that these folks are getting their act together. I recently ordered a couple of clearance items online (over $25 ships free to
store). I had an E-mail in three days indicating my items were at the store for pick up. Their customer service has improved 100%.
Stopped in my JCP store Saturday to see how busy they were..Cash registers were busy, with mostly women customers, and I checked out the Sephora section. All the reps were young women and one was a new hire. Glad to see JCP hiring, a good sign.
I asked about who was buying, and she said mostly younger women, and business was good..Contrary to what the bashes say about JCP being a granny store. JCP pays their salaries she said, after I asked..
My thinking, if JCP can draw in young women for cosmetics, it's a sure bet that apparel will resonate with them as well.
Check this out..She told me J.C. Penney the founder, did not want to be associated with the 5&10 cent store...So to this day, all their registers do not have any wrapped dimes.
Guess Penney himself didn't shop to buy anything in any 5&10 cent store.
