In a note released Thursday, the team at Detwiler Fenton provided some insight into the outlook of J.C. Penney (NYSE: JCP).
The analysts at Detwiler noted that, based on feedback, J.C. Penney's sales trends are likely tracking at the higher end of the guided range.
Additionally, the team says the company has made progress moving through brands that are "on the outs," and is expecting a private label to come this fall. Moreover, the team noted that J.C. Penney has become more strategic in how it handles promotions and is shying away from full-on discounting.
