I like the quiet. My experience has shown that stocks facing some kind of turmoil are more subject to lots of pro and con comments. These are people probably trying to pump the stock or boost the price or push the price down for a better return on a long or short trading position. These are short term traders, not investors making the statements. When it's quiet, I usually see the investment is performing in line with the fundamentals that made me select the company as one I want to be part owner of. Sometimes the comments are made by disgruntled employees, ex-employees, or unhappy customers. The employees should get even by moving on to employment that justly rewards them for their abilities and efforts. The unhappy customers should take their cases to the state insurance commissioners if the company really seems to be treating them unfairly. I suspect this is actually quite rare, but when people experience a loss many of them want payment in excess of fairness. Have a good Holiday Season and may 2013 bring good things.
