Kozek did not like the direction the company is going in reguards to its product line. He was not going to stick around to take the fall for this misdirection. If this doesn't tell you something about where this company is going, I guess you will never understand. There are plenty of people who are just riding things out at PACCAR and there will be a big day of reckoning. As award winning models that brought record profitability and customer satisfaction go by the wayside, so does the future of this company. Companies cannot and will not succeed on reputation and prior performance alone. Sad day!
Fonzo, you continue to be a hater and continue to get penalized for it... Kozek was a 50 yr old PCAR "high potential" employee in succession behind another PCAR great, 56 yr old Christensen... He made a prudent career choice based upon age, placement, and personal goals. Quit trying to read negative into every PCAR event in your failed quest as Short!!!
fonzo is right. somebody is gonna get whacked over the 177.5 mill loss. kozek is now on a level playing field meaning "now" he can compete for the big budget government contracts.and he won't take the hit for pigott at the stock holder's meeting. rick you are proof that if a person puts a side-saddle on a hog, they still have a hog. if you had any sense you would have been retired years ago. but you ain't got no sense. maybe you can be wiser if you read sarah's book or go to bush's library where the books are untouched by human hands and take 5 minutes after you get there and tell ALL you know. 5 minutes is ample time for "you." in short, kozek's message was/is JAMMIT.
True, but that organizational pyramid at PCAR gets pretty narrow at the top, Mark isn't going any where, Bill's behind Bob, so his likely next step w/b CFO...so, why wait for CFO in a few years only to be parked for another 3-5 when you c/b President of the competition now. Seems logical to me... Just saying.
