In the money puts prices seem weird

Long term in the money puts did not seem to be tracking AMZN on the way down quite commensurately with the decline. I'm short AMZN at 43.75, but this is making me a little nervous. Perhaps this is normal, but the stock closed today at 39.06, while April 06 40 puts and calls were priced the same.

Unless someone can convince me otherwise, I'm going to put in my order to buy to cover at 37.75 and hope it gets filled tomorrow, then move on.

    • They had 20 cents differenc at the close today.

      Call: $3.60-$3.80

      Put: $3.80-$4.00

Generally speaking, calls almost always have more premiums than puts.

I haven't done any careful analysis, but since there's at least 20 cents difference, I don't find the prices too out of whack.
