"I just read the year-end edition of Fortune. I can't believe the favorable Wall Street lean on this company. Doesn't anyone care about profits anymore? Can't wait to see the insiders sell at these values. Maybe that will be a wake-up call." [msg. #32 12/1997]
Probably not...looks like they are taking a dirt nap.
you're after try the latest edition. You
shorts/bears are always so behind when it comes to catching up
with the latest stuff. Year end issue? Since it's
prepared weeks in advance that's pretty ancient history
The current issue explains how Amazon with some
timely M&A action in 1998 soon grabbed the No. 1 online
book markets in 2 of the top markets there. It goes on
to explain the future challenges for them in the
rest of continental Europe including France, where
another company has acquired once-owned book site run by
French government (alapage.com?), Italy and Spain.
I know an insider at the company who didn't deny
that the treasurer may resign. Also, it appears that
the SEC investigation is going deeper than just how
they report wharehousing costs. My guy told me that
any insider who hasn't sold stock is registering
his/her stock for sale. GREAT TRADE IDEA: short the stock
and sell puts!!!!!!!!
