    Chicago Trib Midwest WOW!

    sell your land.
it's tripled in value the last 7 years.
nothing quite as aggravating as rich farmers who continually cry poverty.

    • farmland 'has more than tripled' in value over the last 7 years and I am a wealthy investor, I make 'far more' off of my investments than I do from farming...

I also think that 'you missed the point', the days of cheap corn prices 'are over' because of the cost to grow it...and it will cost more in the future to produce all grain this time, it would probably cost over two million dollars to buy and equip a 'small grain farm' of about 300 acres...

Corn is just like oil prices, it cost more all the time to produce it and we will never see cheap oil again...I remember when oil was $3.00 a barrel and gasoline was 18 cents a gallon (corn was $1.18 a bu., one third of the price of a barrel of oil)...look at the percentage of increase in oil prices vs grain prices over the last 30 years...

That said, I never cry poverty (everybody else does)...! $tagg...!

      • Farm income is still expected to be near records thanks to high prices and crop insurance in 2012.
Corny capitalist corn farmers are driving cattlemen and other meat producers to slaughter their ‘crops’ and take big loses for their insane corn ethanol political payoff.
It is extremely unlikely but the corn monster maybe a lucky gamblers but from his public prattle on ‘investments’ he certainly is not a rational investor.
He is however proven himself a public liar which is something similar but not the same as his constant dissembling.
Fact is corn ethanol is destruction of production and dead economic weight. Raising protein and dairy is a value added activity.
