when I go to events, it show that there are no events for the month of july, usually it will show the upcoming earnings announcement? what is going on?
A public company has 45 days after completing a quarter to file results (except they have 90 days after year-end to allow formal audit). If it's been Linn's history to put out a press release about their earnings calls, then, they will do so when they are ready. I would assume Linn management knows all anyone wants to know is what's going on with the SEC and the BRY deal, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them wait as long as they can in hopes of resolving the SEC matter before reporting so they can have a productive call.
Although I posted the Yahoo Company Events date earlier, I agree with Kai. My guess is that Linn is busy with the SEC visitors making sure everyone is comfortable with QII statements. Whenever QII earnings are released, I think they will be bullet-proof insofar as the SEC will surely have looked at all the methods, hedge treatments, etc., and will be comfortable. This then suggests that the market will be relieved whatever the numbers as long as they're within a few points of the street estimates and the market relief should be associated with a nice move up.
I actually think Yahoo's website is wrong. Look at the news releases - Linn usually does a PR to indicate when the earnings call will be - they haven't done so yet. I actually think earnings will be delayed a little from historical. That is OK - they're dealing with many issues right now and they perhaps think they'll have more clarity in a few weeks.
