Linn Energy just made changes to their S4 filing. Maybe that is all you're going to get. SEC made inquiries, asked for some changes, got the changes and now they just close the file. No public statement, just silence. Might not hear anything until the end of the quarter, and Linn Energy comments.
The S4 changes were because there was Q2 data and the filing was still outstanding, they had to update it. The changes were exhaustively discussed here, and I didn't see anything to make me believe it was anything other than routine business, and not indicative of any movement.
You bet you'll hear, because the ultimate resolution of this thing is the acceptance of the S4 and clearance for the Berry deal. They may say nothing about other matters that may have been part of the inquiry (there's no information as to what the inquiry actually is focused on), but the Berry green light would include non-action on other matters by implication.
There's no excuse for the SEC dragging this out threatening the Berry acquisition. They now have had their 60 days to find nothing. It is completely irresponsible behavior based on a bear raid similar to what we saw with Herbalife recently.
