vynus if you are looking for income now...how much did you pay for your stock, if you can break even..sell. see your broker on stocks like fgp, imh, nbp, pgh, rif, rre or buy some preferred stock or wait til C.D.'s are paying 7-8%. go to bankrate.com to look up the highest rates in the nation. don't buy the c.d's yet as rates will be going up the next 2-3 years. It was'nt that long ago we were looking at 8% rates and a free shotgun for 10 year c.d.'s. however, remember c.d.'s can be called in (cashed in) by the bank if rates fall below your rate.
Vynus06, respondents have discussed the reason that the dividends must be paid on the preferred stock several times on this board, but perhaps our explanations are lacking the clarity that you require.
Perhaps you should contact investor relations and direct your inquiry to the source.
end of 2005...or first quarter 2006..5% on a stock price of 12.50. Dividend news pushing price to 16-18.00 My guess. Based on period in 4th and 6th Fed. tightening as sector hopping switches to hopefully electric utilities as per "sector hopping as interest rates rise" article by monica rivituso. Looking at e-trade and ameritrade numbers it looks like many investors are waiting til after the summer(we are supposed to be hit this summer in the u.s., remember what happened to the market last time?) for doing the buying to drive our stock price up.
No clue, but CMS seems to have broken through resistance at 8.70 today. Price action is encouraging here. I believe that the stock will begin to anticipate the dividend reinstatement ahead of any offcial announcement. We may be beginning to see that being built into the share price.
