ZAGG released its earnings data on Tuesday. The company reported $0.01 EPS for the quarter, missing the Thomson Reuters consensus estimate of $0.28 by $0.27. The company had revenue of $87.50 million for the quarter, compared to the consensus estimate of $83.66 million. During the same quarter in the prior year, the company posted $0.27 earnings per share. The company’s quarterly revenue was up 29.6% on a year-over-year basis.
GAAP EPS was 0.01. They beat based on proforma GAAP EPS. Basically, they issued that number so that we'd understand what the GAAP EPS would have been had they not taken charges in 4Q12. My understanding is that they took them in Q4 in order to decrease their tax liability for the year. Those items have no effect on forward guidance.
