    IAM loses

    From new contract press release:

"As a part of the agreement, the Cheshire facility and the Connecticut Airfoil Repair Operations (CARO) will close in the coming year. A plant-closure agreement has been negotiated in an effort to ease the disruption to our employees' lives."

Just like the UAW, negotiating themselves out of jobs. The best paid unemployed in the country.

The closings were written in stone when the union won the court case. Knowing they lost, they negotiated sweeter severance.....the last payoff before the unemployment dole.

    • Yes. again the union got all they could and shoved it in their pockets. Now they get to think about their early retirements with few job skills and no real place to go get another union job. All driven by the greed of the Union of course.

Ah yes, the life of a Union worker. How pathetic they are.

    • dar,

Pratt had 30,000 union workers in 1960, now, it's 3,000 and falling. The lost jobs impact Connecticut's base of skilled labor and CT's ability to compete in the world's hiring hall. These lost jobs provided good opportunities for the CT workforce. Now, the newly elected Governor says he's going to create jobs, like he did as mayor of Stamford...........giggle, giggle.
