I've been scaling in cautiously. I was surprised to see how brutal the summer months were for ADI, but I'm thinking the fall and winter will treat it nicely. I'll just have to remember to scale back during the spring. But with a nice dividend, it's tempting just to hold...I'm holding this in my IRA BTW.
I see ADI as being more cyclical than seasonal, but they've done a nice job extending and diversifying their product portfolio to withstand the cycles that effect so many semi's with more beta.
I trade it a little bit, sell covered calls, but I've always got a chunk in my portfolio. I really admire this company and plan to hold it for a long time to come.
BTW, I foresee another strong Q. The question is what are they going to do with their growing war chest? If they're not planning any acquisitions, perhaps they'll do a special dividend on top of another buyback.
