No Yahoo board or statistics, but found out it is low float, only 14 million shares, and 2.6 million shares short. They lost money on earnings report, but not as much as expected, so it goes up 30%? Crazy. I will look to short it tomorrow when the dust settles. A money losing company going up 30% in one day?
Yes, I'm shorting SPWR, although I got in a bit late yesterday. Every time it passed $10 today, it fell back, so I am hoping it drops below my entry point $9.77, but if it goes over $10, it's an easy short there. It, like all solar stocks, is tracking FSLR, the industry leader and only "good" solar company. If you watch FSLR, you will see how SPWR will move. FSLR is impossible to short for me, so SPWR is a good substitute. FSLR has been running for days, hence the run up in weak companies like LDK, GTAT, JASO, etc., etc......but today, finally, FSLR pulled back, and the others are following it. It dropped almost $2 from it's high, giving up days of gains. Typical solar stock. This is an industry that is not mature, as the technology is just not there yet to be cost efficient without government subsidies. In 20 years or so, it will have arrived. Until then, short the pops:)
