TK is the parent company. They own and control TNK and a few other publicly traded companies that trade under the TK umbrella. TNK has no employees, all of its employees are employees are TK employees. IMO, the reason to own TNK is because of the strength of its parent company TK. As the tanker market continues to falter, independent players like NAT will suffer disproportionately. TNK has a parent to support it - For example, it is only because of TK that TNK is able to place an order for up to 16 new dual tankers.
