Most St. Louis-area casinos reported lower revenue in December when compared to a year ago, data released Monday show.
The six local casinos reported $82 million in revenue in December, nearly 3 percent less than the same month last year, according to figures from the Missouri Gaming Commission and the Illinois Gaming Board.
Missouri casinos had hoped to capitalize on the removal of a $500 loss limit in November. By the numbers Harrah’s brought in $23.54 million in revenue in December, down 7 percent from $25.28 million a year ago
Lumiere Place reported $14.84 million in revenue in December, an increase in 144 percent from $6.08 million a year ago because Lumiere opened in Dec. 19, 2007
President Casino had $1.77 million in revenue in December, down 54 percent from $3.89 million a year ago
Ameristar reported $23.46 million in revenue in December, up 2 percent from $23.1 million a year ago
Argosy Alton brought in $6.26 million in December, down 33 percent from $9.34 million a year ago.
Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Ill., reported $12.3 million in December, down 27 percent from $16.86 million a year ago.
