well I guess that's one way of defining it. when I say I'm long, it's because I intend to hold the stock for a minimum of one year and suffer through the ups and downs >>>
I commend you for your conviction. I usually hold on avg 6 months if I the company is pretty solid and has some history.
V is solid but not alot of history
They've prevented serious damage on more than one occa}}
<<and how many times has the market maker reached down to take your shares out before them going up again?? >>>
Sure thats happened too. But thats the price for some safety.
I have a long position in V and until the past couple of days I was considering getting out.
I read the financials in the prospectus of thier filing and was really impressed with their profitability especially after comparing it with ZQK
Another reason I bought in is that I work for a company that has been selling Volcom for awhile.
A lot of people at work wear V and the manager of our wharehouse mentioned that we are basically becoming shoes and Volcom.
After a week of sideways trading (with more down days than up days) I was almost ready to sell but glad my stop loss order didn't trigger :)
I'm thinking todays big move up may be releif that the Yuan revaluation was a token move rather than a REAL revaluation.
