Does anyone know the details of the Open Computer project? I heard FB's new data center was primarily comprised of hardware that's in line with this project, and that FIO recently announced their contribution to the Open Compute project .
The Open Compute Project is dedicated to promoting more openness and accelerating the pace of innovation in the development of datacenter technologies,” said Frank Frankovsky, chairman of the Open Compute Foundation and vice president of hardware design and supply chain at Facebook. "Contributions like the one Fusion-io is proposing today play a crucial role in the work of opening up the datacenter, and we are excited to see what the community does with the NVMKV flash interface.
So if FB's VP of hardware design and supply chain is excited to see what the community does with FIO's contribution, I'm guessing they're still doing business, and that FB's new data center in Sweden is loaded up with FIO hardware. I can't wait for August 7th.
