if they really think they can make a 40% price increase stick. The large tubs of Smartbalance spread I've been buying for years just went from $5.50 to $7.75 at the local Safeway. In today's economy? Who are they kidding?
I have always paid $2.50-$2.80 for a medium-sized container of the Smart Balance spread, and passed on it today with the price marked up to $3.69. No way am I paying 47.5% more for a tub of glorified margarine. I'll get my "omega 3s" from fish oil tablets...
one big differance is a hedge fund wants and knows real value in DF. No One of any stature is even remotley trusting of managements predictions going foreward in SMBL. That's why no one willing to step up to the plate of dripping fake butter.
many grocery items cost a lot more than they did even 2 or 3 years ago. the big tubs of I can't believe it's not butter are over $7 too. and the government keeps telling us inflation is low, yeah right.
