ISRG continues torrid new hires rate of 62% this quarter
Junes 81 and Mays 127 new hires are the #2 and #1 highest number in ISRG's history. They are not pulling back and all the bad publicity is not indicated by either new hires or new doctors listed (302 as of 05/31/13--two months) also at a record pace. The bulk of those new surgeons were general surgeons. Historically I found a new system is required to support every ~4.0 surgeons domestically. That translates prorated into 113 domestic system sales vs 115 (includes trade-ins) last quarter. Add trade-ins (39 last quarter) to the 113 and this could prove to be a blowout quarter. Performance will trump TV "reporters" hype eventually.
Actually the reality is the company needs more "sales" guys to pump more and more machines down the throats of more and more doctors!!! The truth about this management will be revealed as well the cost differential and effectiveness of the procedures......Its your cash so KEEP BUYING ON MARGIN...........
Obvious you know nothing about how medical equipment is sold........no individual makes the purchase decision alone........committee decides after exhaustive presentation/review of medical benefits and financial analysis.......purchase decision is not predicated upon how the machine attracts women or easy financing
Actually, at the Goldman conference yesterday, it was stated that studies have shown that the total cost of procedures using the Da Vinci, when all costs are figured in was 75% of costs without using it.
lemmeknow: You are so consistant. Please add to this board by citing actual surgeon experiences or financial analysis from hospitals, insurance companies or give testimonies from patient that would rather have more pain, bleeding, longer recovery times, and less efficatious clinical results.
