to set the record straight in cyberspace.. no I do not work for AVE, their sales reps are not misfits but are actually some of the best in the industry, BSX and Scimed do not rule the interventional world, as you have all been brainwashed.
I do sell in the cath labs and have seen the radius stents underperform and the physicians have not been all that impressed by this stent. The NIR is getting closer to GFX but their re-stenosis rates are in the 24% range, much like the Palmaz-Shatz stent that people have moved away from all together. Anyways, enjoy the moment, another stent another week and trust me this is only the beginning for MANY companies and not just BSX.
I have not seen a picture of the NIR stent. Is it a pipe stent? Is it less flexible than the AVEI stents?? If AVEI stents have been competing with the NIR in Europe, the game is over and the percentages are set for US sales. Any comments?
