Risky move IMHO, lots of headwinds for this stock and you are betting AGAINST the domestic US natural gas industry, which at the moment looks more and more like a suckers bet.
Coupled with the fact that this management has done nothing but destroy shareholder value for 10 years, and the possible issues with the NRC, the IRS and the underfunded pension plan......and I'll take a pass.
Usually, where there is this much smoke, there is always a fire. And a fire at a nuke plant is very serious....
Longtime shareholde, but enough is enough and I'm out.
IF a new (competent) management team comes in and/or this stock is availble around $22 share I'd be tempted to get back in, IF the investigations with the NRC are and IRS are put to bed.
Better to rotate into WM or COP for a more stable dividend and appreciation potential IMHO.
And there will be a goodwill impairment related to IRS charge. All these "one-time" charges start adding up to real money ($1B+). Don't expect any dramatic turnarounds either as those hedges also serve to mitigate upside should NG pricing suddenly jump. Mediocre performance is built in for the next few years. The earnings bounce is over and the 20's shouldn't be just around the corner.
I do wonder though what Blackrock sees as they've become a 5.6% shareholder. Let me guess - threaten shareholder action and collect a special dividend to pay them off. More of the games that hedge funds play.
