It's very possible, but I don't see it that high, 20-30's no problem! Subsciber Base is going up and up!, it doubled last year.
Keep in mind, you can't compare BB to Android as far as user base goes, Droid is just an OS used by many manufacturers, not a single one of them has a used base as large as BB. You can compare BB to Apple or Nokia, and I belive BB is currently in 3rd place followed by HTC.
Windows 8 will bomb, already PC users are fuming over the new OS. We all know the bugs that are associated with new Windows releases.
I think longs on this board would be floored if they had any idea how tempered the expectations that RIM internally has for sales of this launch if they could see them.
They all but tell you that they are no longer competing against the Apple's and Samsungs of the world but instead trying to carve out a viable niche for themselves. Yet longs on this board believe within months RIM will be back as a top 3 powerhouse rivaling Google, Apple, Samsung.
Oh well, that is why this board is so amusing. Longs have a history of ignoring CEO statements of bad results coming.
joelew111: you hit the nail on the head. They are one of the most screwed up companies on the planet. It was sheer dumb luck that they were as successful as they were. The nose dive of the last 2 years is more in line with their leadership's capability. Lazaridis fancies himself an innovator and though he's no longer CEO he still heavily influences product. BB10 may entice existing BB users, but in the end it will sputter. Thor will end up being replaced and the next CEO will axe the company down to divestable parts. Question is: will any of these parts have any value to anyone? (I'm thinking "NO".)
