I think it's not going to be as easy as everyone (longs) thinks - I could be wrong and probably am! I see eps as not so important this quater as the sell in vs shipped and AND most important - LOST subscribers! Unless eps is over .20 and / or subscriber loss is somewhat under control or reasonable, longs are going to have to wait another quarter for more positive evidence that this is not just a new launch affect as far as sales that will die out or fade away before next quarters ER? Shorts will pick this ER apart and beat down any weakness like a red headed step child! I did a lot of reading, short and long! This is a coin toss to me which way it goes! So don't be too disappointed if it doesn't fly tomorrow, there are great things coming down the pipe later this year and next year I am sure - do some reading about QNX these guys are into everything! Key words from BBRY are Mobile Computing! Everyone keeps so focused on cell phones - it's mobile computing and the things (services) you'll be able to do via BBRY cell phone technology and BES software down the road! I'm long but light for tomorrow - after that I load the boat which ever way it goes tomorrow! Good Luck and Good Night!
Scotia Capital's Gus Papageorgiou has an outperform rating on BlackBerry with a $22.40 price target. He thinks BB10 devices will lead to improved margins and is modeling revenue well above consensus, at $4.1 billion, with EPS at 72 cents, based on improved gross margin of 44%, way up from 28% a year earlier and 40% in fiscal Q4. In fact for Q2 Papageorgiou is modeling 5.5 million BB10 units sales helped by the forthcoming lower-priced Q5. He also thinks EPS for Q2 will come in at $1.28 per share
Sentiment: Strong Buy
if I made a call on eps it would be a purely worthless guess. I can call the pop and selloff. whether the pop cpntinues tommorow or the selloff started today is the question I held hoping for pop tommorow. long term concerns sales to non US markets,BES,QNX and if big longs have any buying interest or if institutions flee bbry I will do mpre researc on financials next quarter this quarter I maimly looked at it as a range traded stock
