Monarch was again named to the “The Roaring 20” list, a compilation of the
twenty fastest-growing companies in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
“The Roaring 20” award honors Hampton Road’s most dynamic businesses based on revenue and
employee growth. The award recognizes the region’s fastest growing companies that are making
significant contributions to the local economy, including creating much needed jobs.
Since it began in 1998, Monarch has spread its wings, branching into mortgage lending, cash
management and, most recently, private banking and investments. But the commitment to local
clients hasn’t wavered. Monarch has continued to grow and expand, a strategy it maintained even
during the recession. “The Roaring 20” list of twenty finalists were determine by Cherry, Bekaert
& Holland LLP, weekly business journal Inside Business, along with an independent panel of judges
of local business leaders and university business faculty based upon both growth and percentage
rate of growth over the company’s three most recent completed fiscal years. Other judging criteria
included critical factors that resulted in company growth, challenges/obstacle overcome and future
outlook of long-term sustainability.
Institutions are taking notice as evidence that they are jumping in. Because MNRKs 3 month avg volume is only 30K (but growing fast!) these institutions that have bought 100K & 200K need to do it quietly, spread over many, many days or the price would go through the roof.
