Here is a bit from the latest "value investing congress". Joel Greenblatt has a great track record as we know so this is worth a read. The best part about Joel is that he is not interested in the macro picture. It's hard to find this kind of thinking these days. It is also hard to find anybody that has a better long term track record than Joel. The guy is a genius imho.

I suppose he needs to be outperforming the S&P every single day or you pull your money out? You need to invest in an index fund. Then you can look at it on a daily basis to make sure it matches the S&P.
