My friends are purchasing a home from Taylor Morrison in Orlando and it has been a poor experience. Their cheezy sales VP (Jeff) is a used car salesman and I am quite skeptical of this company as an investment if they can't pay attention to the home building experience. Looks like the 3 private equity firms rolled out this pig to the public at the right time.
I had a home built by TMHC, and had an EXCEPTIONAL purchase, and building experience. Have lived in the home for just over a year now, and the quality of workmanship is also excellent. This was the 7th home we have had built, and I have to say, TMHC is ABSOLUTELY a builder I would recommend to others. They also were awarded "Builder of the Year" for 2012, and I know the neighbors that I have meet, have alos expressed similar opinions. So either you're short, your friend, had an unusual experience, or is one of those "high maintenance" customers that should have been fired to begin with.
P.S. I like the home enough, that I am considering having an additional one built, a little closer to Disney, and for company.
