The Israelis have it exactly right. Somebody with a first name of Muhammad who wants to fly El Al should be scrtutinized a lot more carefully than someone named Yitzhak. There's no room for "political correctness" in a world where some fanatics would like nothing better than to blow up a plane.
As for the Nazis, they weren't very good at security at all. If not for dumb luck, Hitler would have been assassinated in mid-1944. And their one-time Gestapo head, Reinhard Heydrich, was indeed assassinated in Prague in 1942. They couldn't even protect their own.
> The Israelis of course are also at the forefront when it comes to security. Did you see any Israeli airliners slam into buildings a decade ago?
That is simply because they have no constitutional problems with profiling of passengers. The USSR never had problems either. Nazi Germany was also at the forefront when it came to security.
MEDICAL technology for one. Several years ago I had a successful investment in the Israeli company that invented a camera in a pill for taking close-up photos from inside the stomach and esophagus.
The Stuxnet computer worm came from Israelis - not from Americans.
The Israelis of course are also at the forefront when it comes to security. Did you see any Israeli airliners slam into buildings a decade ago?
The resourcefulness of the Israelis is shown by what a success they have made of their relatively-inhospitable desert land. Does any other country in the region not having oil come remotely close to what the Israelis have in terms of industry, per capita income and such? Israel is First World in all respects whereas most of its neighbors are Third World at best.
Israel is not world-class in any kind of tech. They rely on the US for most of their military technology, a subject about which you know less than nothing. Name the technologies in which Israel leads the world.
Do you think that this is the last computer worm that Israeli scientists will unleash? There will be newer ones and even more potent ones.
During World War II, the British were able to turn back the German threat by discovering radar and breaking German codes. The scientists defeated the Germans just as much as the servicemen did. And now the Israelis are traveling that same path. They are over a thousand miles away from the Iranian nuclear facilities and yet already found a way to put a severe crimp into them.
Israel is world-class when it comes to any kind of tech.
> Iran isn't nearly the threat that it was even several months ago as the Israelis infected Iran's computer system with an ingenious computer worm.
That bought some time, at least a few months, perhaps as much as a year. But it hasn't changed the threat at all, merely delayed it.
There was only a future threat a few months ago, and there still is only a future threat. The threat has hardly been diminished at all.
Iran isn't nearly the threat that it was even several months ago as the Israelis infected Iran's computer system with an ingenious computer worm. Leave it to the Chosen Ones to come up with the answer and overcome any intimidation. Fortunately, the Chosen Ones were chosen to have their fair share of brains.
