I used to use this airline but they have no concept of what customer service is these days. The seating is cramped and you are lucky if you don't sit next to some smelly homeless or fat person. They are also overpriced. I was amazed to see US Airways was $20 to $50 cheaper on some flights including the bag fee. It is pretty sad when the cattle herding airline that these guys are is charging higher rates compared to their largest competitor. They really have lost touch with their customers. Corporate greed at it's best.
I don't think that anyone particularly gives a d.a.m.n. that you agree. I'm A list and I get a good "a" seat every time. You could too by simply paying 10 bucks when you buy your ticket.
Just get outta the way doofus.
John SWA does what it does and that is move customers with smile. If you need a first class seat buy one, but you will pay through the nose and not get much better treatment except on an international flight. Write Gary Kelly, he is the guy in the head shed if you can't stand the service.. Choice is still allowed in this country....
Sentiment: Strong Buy
John, I fly every airline and everyone has equal coach service at a basic level. You want service?? Buy a first class ticket on someone. SWA's coach is slightly above the others.
From my perspective, I'm not so concerned about price and don't mind paying a net of $30-$50 more on Southwest. I'm used to them being slightly higher than the other major carriers. What attracts me to Southwest is their non-stop flights between smaller cities (LAS-ALB, LAS-TPA, LAS-BUF, TPA-BUF), etc) whereas other traditional airlines mandate a connection in some crowded airport hub near a megalopolis like ORD, ATL, IAH or DFW. With Southwest I can make a single non-stop flight from LAS-TPA that takes 4 hours. Cramped seats are the norm in coach on all carriers. So I'd rather be in one for 4 hours and get it over with compared to taking 2 flights, sitting in a hub with overpriced food and having the whole journey take 7-8 hours. Plus the absence of a change fee makes it a no risk booking if you have to cancel.
