There won't be a short squeeze unless they beat estimates handily. That said, I'd think that there would be better candidates to short out there than RGR. If not, I'd suggest coming up with a new game plan. With average volume increasing of late, it's suggestive of larger players getting involved. They generally are stronger hands that don't get scared out easily, unless there's a big miss. The odds of that happening are very slim, IMHO.
Last earnings we beat EPS by 17.4%, +86.2% yr/yr, Rev beat by 14.3%, +45.3% yr/yr. Even still, the stock got hammered so as to be down 13.2% from the recent high. If the same thing happened this time we'd post a low of $50.71. I'm not trying to create a self fulfilling prophesy....I doubt many people will read this anyway.
