The above headline links to a PBS story, explaining the gun control struggle is only in its early stages.
Five lobbying groups are identified as "gun control advocates":
1. Organizing for Action--President Obama's former campaign organization
2.Mayors Against Illegal Guns
3.Progressive Change Campaign Committee
4.Democratic National Committee
5.Americans for Responsible Solutions----Gabby Giffords' group
I assume these groups have paid staffs, because they solicit donations. These paid individuals don't want to lose their jobs, and will do anything to retain their positions..
I assume donations to these groups are tax deductible for the donors, and the groups are tax exempt, charitable organizations. If so, their tax treatment is unequal to the treatment of the NSSF or the NRA.
My conclusions are that the gun control debate is going to continue, at a fevered pitch, and I should donate to the pro-gun organizations.
