Bob, I'm not sure I follow your logic here. Wouldn't a mutual fund involved in window dressing want to sell instead of buy a stock that is 60% off it's 52 week high?

    • Window dressing is an unfortunate and disgusting quarterly practice. OVTI was at 15.95 as of June 30. It has therefore been a losing stock this calendar qtr. Some mutual funds may want to unload it before qtr's end tomorrow to look better when they report their holdings as of June 30.

      • There are a series of concepts common to most boards which I strongly suspect have a marginal impact on our trading range.

        1. Window dressing. Does anyone think a mutual fund statement looks any better showing a two dollar loss in cash as opposed to an investment on the way up two dollars down from 30 June?

        2. Tax Selling. In the entire United States of America how many instiutions or otherwise will looking looking to sell any stock to offset capital gains in 2004?

      • Read Bob's original post. He says the price is only going up due to window dressing and will go down in the first 3 days of the next quarter. I understand window dressing as you explained it, that is why I asked Bob to clarify his statements. Thanks for the response. Dave
