The focus is on the fiscal cliff at the moment. However, remember why the market sold off after the large caps' earnings reports. A large number of multinationals were reporting only average earnings the lastest quarter. The reason for these reports were caused by the recent economic weakness in Europe. Germany, the funding source for Europe, isn't immune from the overall economic weakness in Europe. If and when the fiscal cliff is resolved, the markets will turn its attention to the fourth quarter earnings reports. Remember the effects of Europe on US corporate earnings when placing your buy orders in the fourth quarter. It is only my opinion on the outlook for the fourth quarter. Happy investing. Have a nice Thanksgiving.
