Shrinking DuPont Gets Smaller As Imprelis-Peddling Unit Loses Pesticides To Superior-Managed Syngenta
Good Morning, Bonjour, Guten Tag,
Readers, recall last summer 2011 how the bumbling executives of DuPont UnProfessional Products were spotlighted as the peddlers of the infamous Imprelis, a falsely, if not fraudulently marketed DuPont dandelion-herbicide? Imprelis, now mercifully banned by the U. S. EPA, proceeded to decimate hundreds of thousands of mature landscaping trees nationwide worth as much as a couple of $billion.
Finally there is some fallout deep inside the insular walls of Fortress Wilmington. According to Reuters in the middle of the night (Aug. 29, 2012), Ms. Kullman, DuPont Chieftess has taken a whack at UnProfessional Products and is dumping its pesticides line-up.
The buyer: the largest agrochemical enterprise in the world, Switzerland-based, Syngenta. Syngenta, ticker symbol SYT, is growing robustly as DuPont is shrinking steadily. The net price: a modest $125 million.
The big fallout from imperiling Imprelis is yet to be seen. When will DuPont's secretive and evasive top bosses get around to coming clean with DD shareholders and Wall Street and give us an estimate of the burgeoning potential liability for Imprelis litigation, the hundreds of state and federal lawsuits brought by thousands of cheated DuPont UnProfessional Products customers and Imprelis-damaged property owners? Imprelis, Tell Us!
Merely the morning commentary of one individual investor with both long and short positions in DD, and long-time student of the sneaky DuPont. funfundvierzig...funfun..
Syngenta's savvy leaders should make sure Wall Street and investors know that this purchase of a chunk of DuPont Professional Products does not involve the transfer of any of the liabilities or funny business connected with the DuPont Imprelis herbicide fiasco. This disreputable DuPont business unit in the dwarf state of Delaware was and is intractably meshed in the colossal Imprelis environmental disaster, and the ensuing litigation brought by thousands of Imprelis victims cogently claiming FRAUD! Executives, for example, of DuPont Professional Products have been individually named as defendants in certain Imprelis legal actions.
In short, for the sake of Syngenta's owners, SYT shareholders, don't let DuPont's sordid reputation taint Syngenta, the buyer.
Hmmmm...Is this sale of DuPont UnProfessional Products a shrewd move by Ms. Kullman to dump some of her mendacious Managers and marketing hacks who were dishonestly blaming DuPont AG customers last June, 2011 for the colossal devastation of trees from the fraudulent "INNOVATION" in eco-SAFE lawn herbicides, namely Imprelis? Ridding herself of an embarrassment?
Instead of standing down for this $billion misfiring herself, the self-protecting Ms. Kullman may be sending some of her vulnerable mid-level Managers and low-level troops out front to be shot.
