Readers, in the hoopla last week on May 2, Investors Day, DuPont Chieftess Ellen Kullman and her crew of clowns in the executive suites made a big deal out of their so-called "strategic and operational priorities" for this year 2013 and beyond. Why priorities? Well, if you don't have any real solid performance to talk about you blabber about "priorities". And, of course, you want to avoid at all costs, divulging anything about that couple of $billion or MORE of overhanging contingent litigation liabilities for dead-tree Imprelis claims in courts.
In reading the dull transcript of this DuPont Dog & Phony Show at the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, you can readily zero in on what's wrong with the shrinking 21st century DuPont:
Of the 26 "Executive Leaders" of DuPont featured at the Company's official Webbed-Site, 23 are tired DuPont veterans, having spent at least a decade with DuPont and more often than not virtually their entire careers! Herein lies the problem. We have today, 2013, the same entrenched, inbred Management which misdirected and mismanaged DuPont into its dramatic decline over the 21st century. Where is the catalyst for a different performance?
DuPont desperately needs fresh talent and new ideas and leadership from outside. In the meantime, SYT & MON shareholders will continue to benefit from the institutionalised ineptitude in the dwarf state of Delaware.
